A day after receiving a commitment from 2016 quarterback Brandon Peters, Jim Harbaugh secured a second commitment in the form of linebacker David Reese. Shortly before the spring game, the Farmington, Mich. native flipped his commitment to the Wolverines from Louisville.

Reese is rated a three-star according to each of the four major recruiting sites. Scout ranks him the highest as the ninth-best middle linebacker, while 247 lists him 14th, Rivals 17th, and ESPN has him unranked. However, Harbaugh recruited Reese as a fullback rather than a linebacker.

Reese originally committed to Louisville on March 7 during an unofficial visit, but when his home-state Wolverines offered three weeks later it was only a matter of time before he flipped. Reese also holds offers from Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indiana, and a host of MAC schools. He joins Peters, offensive lineman Erik Swenson, and linebacker Dele’ Harding in the class and will work on convincing his teammate, three-star receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick to follow his lead in flipping from Louisville to Michigan.
